Graduated in Chemistry (2009) and Master studies in “New Materials” (2010) from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). Ph.D. in Materials Science and Technology (Extraordinary Award) at UPV/EHU (2014). Currently Associate Professor (since 2022) at Physical Chemistry Department at the UPV/EHU.
Stays: Predoctoral, at the Faculty of Chemistry (Fribourg, Switzerland) for 3 months (2013); postdoctoral, at the Institute of Molecular Sciences (ISM), University of Bordeaux, under the supervision of Prof. André del Guerzo for 2 years (2016-2018).
Research focused on the development and photophysical characterization of photoactive nanomaterials (hybrid and all organic-based systems) and new chromophores for photonic applications. This includes the investigation of self-assembled chromophores towards the obtention of fluorescent nano-objects using state-of-the-art micro-spectroscopic techniques.
Teaching general chemistry and various physical chemistry subjects in the different Science Degrees of the Faculty of Science and Technology (UPV/EHU). Teaching research related to active methodologies and teaching publications (books, articles and contributions to teaching conferences). Supervision of doctoral theses, final master thesis and bachelor thesis.
Diffusion activities: publications (Mapping igorance, EKAIA, Elhuyar), research news (Euskampus, ABC, PhysOrg, Nanowerk, Interempresas, NCYT, Alpha Galileo, Catalunya Vanguardista…) and outreach activities for the society (Chemistry in Action, Science Week…).
