Graduated in Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in 2014. Master in New Materials in 2015 between the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and the University of Cantabria (UC) and PhD degree in Sciences and Technology of Materials in 2020 (Extraordinary Award) from the UPV/EHU. Afterward, hired as posdoctoral researcher at LUMIMATS, and then as Margarita Salas postdoctoral researcher at nanomedicine group at IDIVAL-Universidad de Cantabria and postdoctoral researcher at the Physical Chemistry Department at the UPV/EHU (2020-2024). Currently, assistant professor at Physical Chemistry Department at the UPV/EHU.
Stays: Predoctoral at Instituto Superior Tecnico of Lisbon (IST, Lisbon) for 3 months (2018); postdoctoral (Margarita Salas Program) at IDIVAL and University of Cantabria (UC) for one year (2022-2023) under supervision of Prof. Mónica L. Fanarraga to gain experience in bioassays in bacteria culture.
The research focused on the photophysical characterization of new fluorescence and photosensitizer dyes, together with the synthesis of inorganic and organic nanoparticles and their postfunctionalization to be used in biomedical applications (fluorescence imaging, photodynamic therapy and antimicrobial resistance treatments).
